Exploring The God Question in the Highlands
From South East England to the Highlands of Scotland, Exploring The God Question is being introduced to audiences across the UK.
On 19thSeptember John Hunter and Professor John Spence, both directors of Search for Truth Enterprises – the company which commissioned the series – introduced the resources to an audience of academics, students and members of the local community at Dingwall’s Highland Theological College. Illustrating how during his lifetime the pendulum has swung from belief in God to increasing absence of belief, John Hunter challenged the audience to engage with The God Question and see the value of the DVD series recently released after four years in production. Staff at the college are now discussing how the series can contribute to their courses.
On the same day, series producer Iain Morris and Keiran Turner of the Evangelical Alliance in Scotland joined the team for a presentation in Inshes Church, Inverness, an event widely promoted by the Inverness Presbytery of the Church of Scotland. In a mixture of illustrations from the series and role play representing the atheist and Christian world views, the overall question of the project was posed: does the evidence point to us being here by chance or intention? In November there will be similar presentations in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
