This series explores whether there are good reasons to believe in a supernatural force behind the universe and if those reasons are compatible with what science reveals about our origins.

But how can such a vast subject be investigated? We believe that the best approach is to divide the topic into three sub-themes. The series therefore takes viewers on a journey from the largest phenomenon in existence – the cosmos – followed by a focus on the wonders of life on planet earth and ends by exploring the human brain and the phenomenon of consciousness. Each of these topics allows us to ask fundamental questions about ultimate origins. This is the territory of religion but also increasingly of science. We ask the religious questions from the perspective of Christianity, Daoism and Buddhism and compare answers not only with one another but also with what we learn from science.
